"ORGANIZATIONAL SILOS" IS "THE BIGGEST" CONSTRAIN IN BUSINESS GROWTH

Silos are storage tanks that are used in agriculture to storage crops, this word is a methaphore to describe the selfish-mind-set that some managers have in the organizations, specially managers in charge of departments. This not-share-information-behavior or any data for that matter, with other departments, divisions, units or functions, isolate not just that department, but creates a menace inside of the company, because not only distort decisions but blocking the natural process of information that may would help other departments.


This kind of management is very obsolete and only responds to personaleand private agendas and not so much to the company benefits, and only provide such information (or sometimes parcial information) only if this is requested from CxO mandatory, making the decision process very slow and blocking the potential natural growth, or opportunities in the company. Therefore the company, not just, is fighting in a highly competitive market, but also, the internal selfish interest that damage the company, instead of facilitate success.





Some of the causes lies on the miss-conception of "team player", and „valuable information“, there is a lack of interest or knowledge regarding the information that can be shared freely, also another point is the no-ability to cooperate, rivalry between teams, or internal competitions, or may be a gap, poor or missing link in communication. All this causes produce the consequence of all relevant business processes suffer in efficiency and effectiveness, team morale is destroyed as well the trust and loyalty.


How to improve Relevant Communication and eliminate Organization Silos

1.- Only one Scope on that matter.

A common and unified scope on this issue can only result in a common vision of success.

There is so much information that goes from processes to initiatives and objetives that can be aligned under the same roof but with the common target. It is important to influence, train and constantly monitor ate the corporation between team leaders, empowering trust, team player dynamics, create consciousness between manager departments that they are not an isolated department but an important piece in the business chess board, and their part is as important as the other departments and that all othegether create „One-company-mind-set“


2.- Create rapport inside of the company.

3.- Deploy and Measure cooperation

4.- Build Team mentality - Create together

5.- Improve Communication

6.- Improve Cycle Time / Feedback

7.- As a CxO become part of the team, Actively!

Working with CEOs on weekly basis make the organizations healthier—less politics, less confusion, greater focus and team alignment
